We are finalising a specification for an API to be developed using AWS API Gateway, AWS Lambda with Java runtime. We require a developer with experience in these technologies to implement the specification and validate the implementation. The deliverable for the project will be a fully commit git repo containing Java code and build scripts to build and install on an AWS account. We prefer gradle as the build tool but candidates can propose others. Note, that all AWS configuration is to be implemented within the build tool (perhaps shelling out to AWS CLI or shell scripts calling AWS CLI) and is under version control. We do not accept AWS configuration performed via the AWS console. We do not want a developer who would be using this as an opportunity to learn about these technologies. Candidates must provide evidence of their experience with their response to this posting. Candidates must provide a sample of Java code they have written. We will use this to judge technical competence as well as attention to detail. Candidates must be prepared to commit their work to a git repo each day work is undertaken during the project. Candidates must be prepared to be able to respond to email communication within 24 hours while the project is under way.
