While I primarily work in watercolors, my work can often involve graphite (pencil drawing) and collage elements. I specialize in portraits, and have successfully delivered portraits of children to happy clients. I'm flexible in my approach to the finished piece - if you wanted something straight forward, or something that's out of the box, I'd love to hear your ideas. For example, I could include a favorite written passage, use different painting techniques such as Japanese shodo, or stylize your son to look a bit like a superhero. Previous clients have told me how I have a knack for intuitively understanding a project.
The painting and commissioning process would go as follows: after receiving a reference image from you, we would discuss the elements you'd like to include in the portrait. I'd then work up a detailed drawing and submit this for your approval. Once this looks good, I'd go ahead with the painting process. I would send you the original painting, unframed, as well as a high res jpeg of the image for you to share with whomever you wish.
Looking forward to hearing more about your project!
Best wishes,
Kathryn
