Our brand produces unique pieces of jewelry in gold. Each piece contains meticulously hand crafted designs that form the framework of our design aesthetic. The love for craftsmanship combined with that of intricate details and vibrancy of the Indian culture is what we thrive to produce.
Taimaa, the brand name, literally translates to ‘clap of thunder’ in Arabic. It is also the name of one of the stars of Gemini. In essence it is to have a deep inner desire to inspire others in a higher cause. Just like a streak of lightning cracks the sky up in a luminous glow, through our jewelry we aim to bring the joy of owning a piece that is as beautiful as your soul.
Gold lends itself as a commemorative medium to various engagements like golden anniversaries, golden jubilee, gold medals, gold credit card etc. But in India, gold is extremely auspicious. Gold is also offered to Indian deities. It is believed that a bride wearing 24k gold on their wedding day, brings luck and happiness throughout her married [url removed, login to view] Indian Hindu calendar even has auspicious days to buy gold.
Our jewelry consist of intricate lattices depict motifs that most suit the occasion for which the jewelry is being made. Weddings, anniversaries, birthdays or just about any special occasion commands a bit of gold jewelry. Since most of the handiwork takes place in Mumbai, India, motifs like elephants, lotus, tube rose, peacocks are extremely common.
The associations of such deep cultural rooting ought to shine through in our visual identity. We wish to showcase the artistry of fine details in the jewelry. In the logotype or the brand identity we wish to capture the contrast between modern production techniques without taking away from the essence of traditional design.
Versatility is of utmost importance. A monogram would be ideal to form a part of the identity as well as be versatile enough to be imprinted onto the gold jewelry itself as a mark of quality. Another desired feature would be to perhaps have parts of the identity be used for a print that could extend onto packaging for the jewelry pieces.
The two directions that we see ourselves going are either with a more romantic, ephemeral calligraphic direction. Or work with rich colors and simple geometric patterns that form the base of the intricate handwork on the jewelry.
