Assist with web and graphic design for new WordPress website

The Amazon Conservation Team (ACT) partners with indigenous communities to protect the Amazon rainforest. ACT seeks a consultant with strong web design skills to assist in designing a new ACT website. The consultancy provides an opportunity for qualified web designers to participate in building an exciting website that will utilize spectacular photos and videos of Amazonian ecosystems and indigenous tribes, and help communicate the organization’s unique message across the web. The consultant will join a team consisting of ACT’s GIS & Web Development Coordinator and a graphic designer, which together will:  Design particular landing pages for the new ACT website; lay out content that will be provided  Work to customize an existing WordPress theme in line with ACT’s style and brand  Implement WordPress modules or jQuery plugins for custom sections as needed  Tweak the theme code to ensure that the website design is responsive and that best practices are followed  Create visually attractive designs such as infographics, and lay out sections of the website with appropriate visual content  Provide creative input about communicating ACT’s message on the web in an effective fashion  Migrate over content from the existing website  Prepare WordPress theme to be used for sub-domains
