Implementation The CRTS system will have 2 modules, web and desktop. The web module will provide the capability to enter registration data and permit students to monitor their progress. The desktop module will consist of tracking, assignment and administrative operations. Following is the brief description of the CRTS functions. Registration This online function will be used to accept the following information: • Personal information (name, email address, contact phone number and department). • Educational information (marks obtained in the completed semesters). • Subject information (marks obtained in the subjects that are relevant for the work in COE). • Additional Information (achievements like scholarship, certificates etc…). • Interest Information (this will be a drop down where applicants will be allowed to select 4 choices to demonstrate their reason for acceptance into COE). Tracking This desktop function will provide the following capabilities: • The data entered by the applicants will be stored into the data base and grades will be assigned for the information entered under Education, Subject, Additional and Interest. The grading will be implemented through automatic module. • The grades will be tabulated automatically to arrive at single grade that will be used to call the applicant for interview. • The interview will be graded and it will be entered into the system and saved in the data base. The final grade will comprise of grade from interview and grade used to issue interview call. • Based on the final grade applicants will be notified through email about their acceptance into COE. Assignment This module will assign the tasks to the accepted applicants. The tasks will be the required documents or activities to complete the project or research. The accepted applicants will also be issued user id (email) and password (applicant can change the password if they want). Monitor This online module will allow the accepted applicants to monitor their progress as well as enter their progress. Administrative This desktop module will generate reports that will be viewed by the administrator to maintain the system and applicants data. This module will also generate reports that will be used for future enhancements.
