Building simple pivot table

I am a relatively experienced excel user and am now at wits end with issues building a simple pivot table. The data shows vendors by month for 4 months. When I run the pivot table, that total for the four month period is shown in the first month of the data and the others show zero. However, when I double click on any of these other fields, the resulting query page shows the data correctly for that vendor for that month. I suspect this is about 10 minutes of work as the data is already set up in continuous columns in excel and somebody that understands the inner workings better than I can bang this out. I need to do two or three today/tomorrow and so I'd like a bid for each final report assuming that I provide the data to you formatted.
