I have developed a couple projects similar to what you are asking. It is a great idea to combine the user interface capabilities of Access with the computing power of Excel. Let me give you an overview of what I think the project will look like. The database will reside on a common server where the users have access. When the user opens the database, the data entry screen will pop up. The user will input the data and then close the program. You as the administrator will be able to go into Excel to refresh the data (or maybe the refresh option will occur in the database). The Excel file will have a data tab and a dashboard tab. Do you already have a dashboard designed, or are you looking for that to be designed as well? This will require some VBA to export the data to Excel. How many fields, records anticipated, and type (numbers, text, dates)? Will there need to be a option for mass uploads? I can create an excel dashboard and link to an existing access database or create one from scratch and link it. this will then allow you to input data into excel, and the data will be stored in access. the dashboards and monthly reports would likely look better on excel, but I can create them in Access instead if you wish. I work full time as a data analyst, and do this type of work on a daily basis.
