I give you all needed vehicle data for the following tasks:
A) Draw a graph of engine speed vs torque and power. Calculate the max. engine power and speed
B) Draw a graph of resistive power vs velocity and max. tractive power (based on aerodynamic and tyre data).
C) Calculate the max. gear ratio to reach the max velocity
D) Reach a velocity 5% less than the max. velocity, by selecting the 5th and 6th gear ratio
E) Calculate the 1st gear ratio for an 18deg incline start.
F) Calculate all the gear ratios remained to design a geometric progression of all the gears.
G) Calculate the equivalent mass of the vehicle for all the calculated gear ratios.
H) Draw a new graph of tractive, rolling resistance force and aerodynamic force vs velocity
I) Draw a graph of excess force vs velocity
J) Draw a graph of [equivalent mass / excess force] vs [velocity – 6% of the calculated in (C)]
K) Draw a graph of velocity vs. time
All calculation has to be done in EXCEL. Show all calculations in excel by a figure of the equation you used.
