Design of tiny wearable GPS tracker
Overall goal:
- Design of wearable-, battery powered-, internet connected- gps tracker.
Design guidelines (in order of importance):
1. Smallest possible PCB size.
2. Good battery life (power efficient components).
3. Cheap component list (BOM).
Required functionality:
- Power supply circuit for running device off battery power.
- LiPo battery charging circuit for charging connected LiPo battery from charging pins.
- On board MCU with at least 32Kb flash and >= 2Kb SRAM (mega32u4?).
- Integrated GPRS modem module (SIM800/SIM900?).
- Integrated GPS module (ublox-6?/SIM900?).
- Small GSM antenna connector on PCB.
- Small GPS antenna connector on PCB.
- On/off button for battery power.
- 3 external pins available for network status LEDs, controllable by MCU.
- 2 external pins available for charging status LEDs, controlled automatically by LiPo charging circuit.
- PCB mounting holes.
Required electrical interfaces:
- On board micro USB host interface. Used for charging LiPo battery
and communicating with device firmware.
- JST connector for replacable LiPo battery.
- JTAG connector for debugging system firmware.
- ISP connector for programming MCU.
- Charging pins for +5V to charge LiPo battery.
- UART interface for debugging.
- (standard) SIM card holder.
Maximum PCB size:
- 35mmx35mm or smaller if possible.
Deliverables:
- Design of PCB.
- 5x prototype PCB including components and postage to supplied address in Sweden.
- Source files (board layout, schematics).
The PCB shall bascially be a combination of these 3 olimex boards in one custom PCB:

Hello.. I developed gps tracking devices before. But they were kinda larger than this. Can develop this for you in 1 month. What is the acceptable weight for you?
