Hello, I've tested the theme/your website and the portfolio filtering is not even done with AJAX - the portfolio items are just manipulated with JavaScript to either be hidden or visible. What I can do is create a taxonomy template that would list only portfolio items from specific category. In such case there will be no filtering. I can probably make this change without modifying the theme files - I will build a child theme instead. I say probably because it is hard to be sure without seeing how the theme is coded or if it even supports child themes. If you want to be able to link to a specific category and retain the ability to filter posts - this would cost you extra because it involves much more programming.
