I need someone to research the following statistics about Divorce and give me written report in the next 6 hours.

Location: I'm not interested in national statistics. Local Startistics (Dallas, Collin, or Denton county statistics are important, additional statistics for texas would be good. Best of all would be for statistics for each of the 3 counties.

Time: Want to compare a recent (post-recession) period to the same period previous year. May 2009 vs. May 2008 would be perfect. April to April would be good. Q1 to Q1 would be fine.

Please see the additional information section about where I think all of this information can be gathered and what information is required.? (VERY IMPORTANT)?

If all of this information can't be gathered from the internet (I think it can) you MUST be an EXCELLENT speaker of ENNglish to make the calls to the courtshouses and so on.?

## Deliverables

THIS SECTION IS VERY IMPORTANT as it tells you what information is needed and where i think you can find it.

Needed Info: Three things:

[url removed, login to view] divorce filings. It's rumored that total divorce filings in Dallas County are 35% below last year. I'd like something to back up or refute that, and it'd be cool to quote Collin and Denton county stats as well.

2. Divorce filings that are pro se (Latin for "for one's self"), meaning the divorce is filed by one of the parties, not by an attorney. I've heard that Dallas county pro se divorce filings are up 65%. This doesn't make sense unless I have more raw numbers (have pro se filings gone from 3 to 5? 300 to 500? I'd prefer to have raw numbers to calculate percentages with myself. Ideally, the number of pro se divorce filings for Collin, Dallas, and Denton Counties for May 2009 and May 2008.

3. Percentage of pro se filings that are dismissed instead of having a Final Decree of Divorce signed by the Judge. Again, rumor is that 80% of pro se divorce filings in Dallas County are dismissed because the person filing doesn't know what to do after filing. This does not need to compare this to previous years. Ideally, I'd know that 200 out of 250 (or whatever) of pro se divorces in Dallas County closed in May of 2009 were closed without a Final Decree of Divorce being signed by the judge, but in Denton and Collin Counties the numbers were xxx of yyy and zzz of www.

Sources: One may be able to get some of this information from calling the District Clerk's office in each county and asking for a deputy clerk. One might be able to gather information from each clerk's online system:

<[url removed, login to view],1100,1101,1102,1250,1251,1252,1253,1254,1255,1256,1300,1310,1320,1330,1340,1350,1360&NodeDesc=All%20Courts%20Search>,

?

One might also gather info from this site: <[url removed, login to view]>

I know much of this info can be gotten from the data that the county releases to the Dallas Commercial Record each month, but it'd have to be manipulated within an Excel spreadsheet. Trouble is, one would have to subscribe to the data, and I'm not sure that this would give one access to historical data.
