Component to import data into a Database

Goal of the project is to develop two component (in .NET: either VB or C#), that extract data from content (that were created by a template) and to insert it into a an MSQL DB (MSQ-Server 2008) 1st component is to extract data from a well-structured text file, in which the data are already separated by tab-characters. 2nd component is extracting data from a report template, in which the data (to be extracted) is after well-defined text tags. A 3rd component should provide access the database via a configuration string, while 1st and 2nd component are using this component. Finally, a simple visual test interface should read a file from the file-system and process its data and insert it into the DB. The visual interface allows selecting different text files. A button starts the process. The text files are NOT analyzed, if the structure is in compliance with the templates – it is assumed they are. The test interface counts the records and checks if all data from the text file are inserted.
