You will write some software to track a ice hockey puck in 3d space.

We are tracking a hockey puck that emits IR light, so we will use IR cameras.

As there are possibly players in the way of the IR object, we will use many cameras, 6 - 10 as required to ensure we can get a good fix on the puck at most times.

A calibration system will calibrate all cameras. When system is installed an IR object can be taken to 12 known points on the ice rink to calibrate. 6 points on the ice and 6 points 3m above those points to enable 3d tracking.

The output of the software will be a red glowing dot on a black screen, we will then take this and lumakey it over the real video.
