At [url removed, login to view], we provide an adobe acrobat plug-in that automatically detects products within publications, and overlays relevant content in a pop-up window.
The plug-in itself is live for windows, but we need to create a version for MAC OS. The high-level requirements are as follows:
1) connect to my web-server and download list of companies
2) save this list to local database;
3) within PDF document find those companies and underline them;
4) when hovering over company names show popup window of required layout with some dummy text;
5) implement toolbar button and "Configuration" window;
6) check against my web-server, for updates.
Once this portion is completed, another developer will be taking it, and further modifying it, to produce the end-result (similar to the plug-in live on [url removed, login to view], now).
