I have been an English teacher for 15 years, and have also taught English writing courses at the collegiate level. In teaching 12th grade honors and advanced placement students, my concentration is on teaching the writing process and editing/correcting/improving students' work. I am a skilled writer and a very effective editor. Good writing must be clear, concise, and interesting. Academic writing must be geared toward a particular audience, such as high school students versus seasoned professionals. A good writer has a solid grasp on organization, style, and tone, as well as an excellent understanding of grammatical rules. Writing conventions must be impeccable, yet any writer must keep in mind that with each piece written or edited, his or her skills will only improve.
