Contest Brief

im starting up a transportation company which will be based on transporting people from a city to another city i need an advice for the pricing model i will tell you what i want and you should advise me how to achieve it.

the problem which im trying to solve using technology
** people are using vans to travel from a city to another which costs usually 45$ but drivers treat people badly not turning AC on in summer people are waiting in the sun until other passengers come and the van becomes complete

my solution
1- mobile application to book these vans and different payment options ( credit card and cash )
2- wifi on board
3- hot drink tea or coffee
4- entertainment on board ( tv screen for movies etc )
5 - good customer service

cost :
i have to pay for all the seats for the drivers so i can convince them to join us instead of waiting for the passengers and they charge 45$ per seat for 14 seats = 630 $

i will only sell 13 seats to make people comfortable .

my pricing model ??
as described above what should be my pricing model knowing that i dont want to make it high priced as i have other competitors in the market

my thoughts

shall i make the price 45$ until i attract all the drivers and passengers then i will be in control of the market then i reprice ?

shall i make it 45$ for basic service excluding wifi , entertainment etc ?

shall i make it 65 including the above services ?

    I would say keep $45 as a base price (just the van, service * A/C), and offer Wifi/Entertainment/Tea & Coffee etc. for $65. If the other van companies have as poor service as you say, simply having A/C & good customer service will corner the market for you. Therefore you would only have to match the $45 price of the other companies and not undercut them. Plus once people use your service and enjoy it they will willingly upgrade to the $65 option for the extra luxury it will provide.
