Contest Brief

Have folders of images files. Jpgs, tifs, psd, png. They contain vertical, horizontal and square images. Need photoshop actions will be applied to entire folders, not individual images.
Need two Photoshop actions: one to make all images vertical and the other to make all images horizontal. One Photoshop action when applied to a mixed folder needs to ignore horizontal images and rotate just the verticals to horizontal. The other Photoshop action applied to a mixed folder needs to ignore verticals and rotate only the horizontals to vertical orientation. Probably this needs to be done with a javascript with the photoshop action accessing the javascript. I do not think there is a way to automate vertical or horizontal detection in photoshop. And it does not matter if this can be done some other way other than javascript as long as I can use the final action in photoshop.

  Did I not explain it very well? it needs to be done with a Photoshop action. Obviously that is because this action once written will become a larger part of other actions. Will xnviewmp work as an action in photoshop?
