Contest Brief

I need a logo design for a small business producing laser engraved wood products such as plaques, jewelry boxes, etc. The name of the company is called Front Line Awards and Gifts and will primarily market goods to Military, Police, Firefighters, and Paramedics. I'm open to any colors and creativity you might employ to represent what the business is about, but I need a logo that will burn into wood easily - meaning if it's converted to greyscale, will not have too many adjacent areas of a similar color that will appear as one giant "blob." And I'm Canadian, not American, so any designs with American flags/eagles will immediately be disqualified.

I'm okay with the Maple Leaf being incorporated if it can be done in a way that looks good, but it certainly isn't required. And I'm glad to see a few of you picked up on the "FLAG" acronym of the name - tying into the "patriotism" of front line workers. If a flag can be incorporated into the design in a way that's not too distracting, I'm not opposed to that either.

I will start ranking some of these to hopefully drive some more creativitiy. A few of you have left off the "and Gifts" but the designs themselves are alright otherwise. I will want the full name of the company on the logo. I do like the "Front Line being in a larger font size and a separation line or second line text with the "Awards and Gifts" I am definitely liking the ones with clean lines/easy to engrave rather than the ones with intricate designs as the detail will be lost once it's burnt into the wood (and if reduced in size to be engraved on the back side of my products), so I will be rejecting those to narrow the pool down. But so far, they are some really good ideas there. Thanks to all who have submitted so far.

Seeing some of the entries and the quality so far, I will likely be moving this to guaranteed in the next day or so. I'm now a more confident that I will find something suitable.
