Contest Brief

We're looking for a researcher, who can identify relevant distributor candidates for our company's expansion into Spain.

Therefore we are hosting this contest! The contest is simple: Find 10 potential candidates to be our new distributor in the Spanish market.

The potential distributors should be listed in an Excel sheet, and should include key information about each candidate (see attached template).

The best candidates are probably existing distributors in Spain. A distribution company must be able to communicate in English in order to be considered.

Quality is important. We don’t want any leads who would clearly not be relevant. A part of the assignment is looking at our website and understanding who we are.

In order for you to complete this task, it’s important to understand our business model. Therefore, I’ll take a moment to describe it. This is how it works:

1. Our company designs and manufacture jewellery products.
2. We sell our products to another company (A DISTRIBUTOR).
3. The distributor sells the products to a store.
4. The store sells the products to the end-consumer.

What we are looking for at the moment is a DISTRIBUTOR for the Spanish market. We are not looking for a design company. We are not looking for manufacturing companies. We are not looking for individual stores. We are looking for a DISTRIBUTION company, that would buy our products, and sell our products to stores in Spain.

Please note that we are not looking for design-companies or manufacturers or regular stores. On the other hand we are looking for distributors. A distributor works behind the scenes. A distributor buys jewellery from us, and sells it to other stores. (A distributor could also open stores that sell only our brand).

We need a distributor, not a manufacturer. A distributor is someone who will buy large quantities of jewellery from us, and sell it on the Spanish market.
