Contest Brief
Hi.
I am open to Australia-based designers, OR if you think you have a clear idea what a Melbourne tram looks like. The logo needs to be recognisable to people from Melbourne as a MELBOURNE tram. But for God's sake READ THE BRIEF. I work only with designers who know how to interpret a proper creative brief.
The winner will be awarded a SECOND JOB via Freelancer to build this out as social media headers.
BUSINESS NAME: Rattling Tram Small Business Marketing/PR
I have placed text beneath the image in the rough, but this arrangement is not mandatory
TAGLINE: I wish to include the tagline beneath and DISTINCT from the business name, "getting you HEARD" nb capitalisation is important. The tagline should run across a SINGLE LINE ONLY
TEXT STYLE: "Rattling Tram" must be in non-serif font. Ideally a font that sits somewhere between standard corporate formal and something that stands out as unique or "a bit' different. This is important as corporate identity will derive from this. Fonts must be available/licensable on standard Macintosh. Different fonts for name, "Small Business Marketing/PR", and tagline is acceptable, but to a maximum of two fonts.
Colours: looking for a three colour logo. Colours are yellow and green as per B class tram livery - you are free to choose any variants of either colour for design purposes. Doesn't need to be true to actual tram colours, but combined effect should suggest a connection with the famous yellow and green livery. The third colour is entirely for you to choose, but it should be a standout/highlight colour for the text ONLY, given yellow will likely be unsuitable for text. I have used red. But this is an important consideration, as corporate identity/branding will derive from this. Red is in no way compulsory. The overall cohesion of the corporate identity is the key concern here.
Brief: I am looking for a STYLISED rendition of a Melbourne W class tram, and I am open to this being HIGHLY CARTOONISED. DO NOT use a photo. For logo purposes I imagine this working best as a front-on or mostly front-on image, but you have flexibility.
Something about the image needs to indicate "golly that tram is NOISY". Which is the lightning bolts coming out of the wheels in my draft, but I'm in no way wedded to that motif.
Please note, I am in no way wedded to ANY of the elements of the supplied draft other than the TEXT and that the key motif should be a stylised, noisy, rattling W-class tram
File Supply: ideally as Adobe-photoshop containing image and text as separate layers. Text layer would need to be editable in photoshop. The image layer can be an entirely imported image. This to allow me to create my own logo variants.
Please contact me if you have any questions regarding any aspect of the contest. AGAIN, The winner will be awarded a SECOND JOB via Freelancer to build this out as social media headers.
