Contest Brief

We are an investment banking firm looking to revamp our logo. Company name is "Ascendiant Capital Markets" however there are different divisions within Ascendiant. Ideally, we'd like "Ascendiant" to stand alone and have "Capital Markets" or ""Digital Markets" be interchangeable.
Here's a bit about the naming behind the company:

Ascendiant

A client once told us, “Ascendiant” in Latin means “they are rising”.

When we founded Ascendiant in 2001, we wanted to create a unique name synonymous with growth and prosperity. We started with the word “ascend” and added a couple syllables arriving at the word, “Ascendiant”.

We do not want rising bars similar to the current logo. It needs to be something more updated. I have uploaded an example of color and how we want it laid out, but ignore the logo...its just there as an example. We like the David Font for the name and Copperplate Gothic Light for the division. Looking for a logo that will look contemporary.

Did you know that Freelancer not only takes a fee from the contest holder but a 50% fee of the winning prize from the Designer???? Only saying here because think it's time the contest holders knew how much Freelancer are making on both them and us.... 50% is shocking... yes they are a portal but to take 50% how is that morally ok?
